Johanna Kotschy-Appel

Johanna Kotschy-Appel completetd her studies in violoncello and instrumental pedagogy at the unsiversity „Mozarteum“ Salzburg (Heidi Litschauer) and 2008 she graduated at the University of Arts in Graz (Rudolf Leopold).
Additional inspirations she got by attending masterclasses with Gustav Rivinius, Enrico Bronzi and Martin Hornstein.
Until 2015 she studied „Chamber Music for String Instruments“ in Vienna („Musikuniversität Wien“) with Prof. Johannes Meissl („Artis Quartett“).

To chamber music she passionately devoted herself from the early beginning of her musical education.
Further impulses she also received from Rainer Schmidt and Lukas Hagen („Hagen Quartett“), Jürgen Geise („Wiener Solisten“), Chia Chou („Trio Parnassus“) and Stephan Goerner („Carmina Quartett“).
In addition to her concert schedule in Austria, she gave concerts in Germany, France, Spain, Slovenia, Croatia, Sweden, Turkey, China, Japan, Argentinia and Chile.

Johanna Kotschy-Appel was a long-time member of following ensembles: „CIS“ - chamber music ensemble, „Klaviertrio Varga“, „ad libitum“ string quartet and „Itinere“ string quartet.
Since 2011 she is member of the „Alliance Quartett Wien“.

Currently she is teaching violoncello and elementary music education at Ebreichsdorf music school and „Zentrum für Musikvermittlung Wien 14“.
